World’s 6th largest smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is Chinese company. Founded in 2010, the brand rolled out its first mobile in August 2011, named Mi1 and shipped with its own MIUI firmware based on Android OS.
In 2012, the company played second inning with the launch of Mi2 smartphone. The devices is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor cobbled with 2GB RAM. The phone also comes with Adreno 320 graphic processor.
In summers of 2014, Xiaomi made its entry in Indian mobile market with Redmi 1S and Mi 3. Redmi 1S entered in the entry level segment with 4.7- inch HD display, 1.5 GHz quad- Core processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB of ROM and runs on Android Jellybean along MIUI 5 on top. While Mi3 comes with 5-inch FHD scree, 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and battery of 3050 mAh.
Till 7 April 2015, Xiaomi sells their mobiles through online portals, while afterwards its devices sold through its own store. Company mainly manufctures smartphone under Mi series, Redmi Series, Redmi Note series, Mi Note and Mi Note pro series. Recently, Xiaomi Mi4 has been rolled out in India.
