Blackberry is a Canadian smartphone manufacturing and sell brand, famous for its Qwerty Keypad phones. The first mobile launched from the company is Blackberry 850 in 1999 that support limited html browsing and email accessing service. In 2003, the company launched its first colour devices other form factor and casing of the devices remains the same. The LCD screen were used in these phones which offers better image quality in sunlight even when backlit turned off.
Models in 7000 series were 16 MB models with no Bluetooth. The only model with 32 MB and Bluetooth is the 7290, which was the last model released in the early BlackBerry form factor. 7290 is also the first mobile from the company to be launched with Bluetooth. The 7270 is the first Blackberry phone that launched with Wi-Fi connectivity. After 7000 series the company introduced its new series called 7100 with predictive text technology called SureType with a QWERTY-like layout, using two keys per button.
In 2006, the company launched consumer’s models to compete brands like Motorola and Treo. In 2008 it introduced its 9000 series with trackball features. After Blackberry introduced a whole new range of mobiles running on company’s own Blackberry 10 OS. These devices rolled out in market with 4G connectivity support and dual- core/ quad- core processor.
But as a result of success of iOS and Google’s Android OS based smartphones, Blackberry have face trouble in selling its phones with company’s OS. In 2015, the company introduced its first ever device running on Android platform, named as Blackberry Priv. Some of the recently launched devices are Priv, Leap, Classic, Classic Non- camera, Porsche Design P9983 Graphite, Z3 and Passport.
