Alcatel Lutent of France and TCL communication of China founded Alcatel Mobile brand in 2004 as a joint business venture. Initially the company launched its first mobile phone in 1998 named as Alcatel OT Easy HF in September 1998 with a stand-by's battery life up to 140 hours. In 2005, this joint venture mobile brand dissolved and TCL acquire its 45% share, from than the company become a subsidiary of TCL.
Alcatel manufactures and sells both Google’s Android OS based and Microsoft’s Windows OS based smartphones. The company has a wide range of powerful and stylish designed mobiles under its OneTouch phones series. It entered in Indian mobile market initially with its featured mobile.
As a joint venture with Tata DoCoMo, the company launched OneTouch Net Phone in September 2010 with full QWERTY keypad and a large optical trackball and includes 80MB of internal memory and supports microSD memory card for expandable memory. The phone comes with pre-loaded apps including Yahoo mail, Yahoo Messenger, Yahoo Contacts, Yahoo calendar, Yahoo Homepage, Yahoo Social Pulse, Flickr and Yahoo search with voice.
On 23 October 2015, the Alcatel Jade Primo launched in India with Microsoft’s latest Windows 10 mobile OS. The phone have specs including 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Amoled display and features curves on the edges. Powered by a 64-bit hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, the handset comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. Some of the best mobile from company are OneTouch Flash 2, OneTouch Fierce XL, OneTouch Hero 2+ and OneTouch Idol 3C.
